Studio Recommendations

A safe space to create beautiful images to remember for a lifetime…

As a central Ohio photographer, there are endless opportunities for photo opportunities in a studio. As part of my commitment to creating the best possible photography experience, I have tested out many different studios, used multiple times, and here to share with you a great add-on. Each are unique and have amazing different styles to fit you and your families needs. From colored backdrops and neutral color schemes to urban chic settings, these studio options are available to book through Ava Lauren Photography. All prices given are the studio cost and will be added to your overall total. Explore the list of the studio options below!

ALP Home Studio

First and foremost, I have to shoutout my own space located in Circleville, Ohio. This is a private space in my own home which is great to be used for small families, milestones, fun birthday sessions, headshots, and a few more. Although I love what I have, large families would not fit in here as well as people over 6ft, and those that cannot walk down the stairs. I love being able to utilize this studio for things that rentable studios do not allow. It also does not cost you any extra to use this on top of your session fee.

Larkspur Studio/Larkspur at the Loft

Larkspur Studio is a beautiful brick and wooden space in the heart of Circleville, Ohio. As much as I would love to call this my own, another wonderful photographer has created the space for other photographers to rent out and use. It would be an extra $70 for 1-5 people and a little bit more for more than that. I have used the space for multiple family sessions, minis, and even boudoir. The space has beautiful brick walls, wooden floors, colorful backdrops, multiple seating arrangements (a couch, bed, and stools), as well as lots of natural light.

Larkspur has recently paired up with another rentable wedding venue, The Loft at Pecks Hall. They have 5 rentable options within their building, with 4 being my favorite. The grand ballroom has these breathtaking vintage walls, wooden floors, beautiful light fixtures, and big windows, $85-$110. They also have the Pearl Room which is all white and has a large gold mirror, $60. The Emerald Room has dark green walls, wooden floors, a brown leather couch, and overall has a darker vibe, $60. Lastly, there’s the Always & Forever. This is a rentable AirBnB but gorgeous. It has a homey feel with a large bed, kitchen, bathroom (with a big white bathtub), and open spaces, $85. These are a bit more expensive with it being a wedding venue as well.

The Que Studio

The Que Studio, located in Columbus, Ohio is so different but so gorgeous. Built in an old auto/body shop, the big windows (old garage doors) create so much great natural light. The rest of the studio is all white with a black ceiling, has built in wall arches, a one sided brick wall, and 2 different rooms to create in. There are also colored backdrops, a seating area with a large couch, a second room with a table. I would recommend this studio for pretty much anything. I have used it in the past for maternity, senior group, couples and families, as well as headshots. The studio is $70 to rent for 1-5 people and not too far from Circleville, Ohio.

Be Changed Studios

Be Changed Studios, located in New Albany, is a gorgeous 3 style property. There are 3 buildings here that are all capable of different sessions. The Barn, my personal favorite, is 3 stories. The bottom level features wooden floors, large windows, and hanging backdrops. The second level has a swinging bed. And the third level has a couch, bed, hammock, and is often rotated throughout the seasons. It is an amazing space and HUGE! The Barn is available to rent for $85. Also on the property is The Loft, available to rent for $60. A smaller building with only 2 stories. The bottome level has concrete floors, a wall of windows, and a large couch. The second floor then usually has a bed. Setup more like an AirBnB but great for mini sessions! The third building at Be Changed Studios is The Camper. Now this building is very small and meant for a singular model or a couple. It is built like a camper. A bed in the front, a small kitchen, and a bathroom, with a glass shower perfect for a boudoir session. The Camper is available to rent for $60. I really love what Be Changed Studios has to offer!

Other Studios

There are lots of studios in central Ohio and maybe one day I will finally get to test them all out. But for now, these are my favorite studios I like to use. And I am always down for a new place to try!
